Laos: Wat Xieng Thong in Luang Phrabang

On Friday I got three postcards: one from Laos and two from Malaysia.

The card from Laos shows the Wat Xieng Thong in Luang Phrabang. The Wat Xieng Thong is a Buddhist temple and one of the most important Lao monasteries. It was constructed between 1559 and 1560. Until 1975 the Lao kings were crowned in the temple. It is said to be a representative example of Lao art. The Town of Luang Prabang is since 1995 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
